How This Started

I'm Tim Ruhkamp, and I spent more than 20 years learning remodeling and roofing from someone who got it right. When I was starting out, I learned the business from the ground up with a mentor who built one of Atlanta's largest roofing companies. We didn't chase every job. We did the ones we could do correctly, with the right materials, and we built something people trusted.

I spent about 10 years up north handling family, but that Atlanta foundation never left me. When I came back, I realized the market had shifted. Too many contractors were cutting corners or chasing volume. I started Refit Specialty Contracting to work the way I learned—with the discipline and care that made sense to me from day one. Exterior work requires precision. It's the first thing people see and the last thing keeping weather out. You don't compromise there.
